(Case Study Preview) eCommerce Website Design: BlackFly Mobile

Overview

About the Project:

December 2011 - July 2013

Entering the Canadian market for high-end tech accessories, BlackFly Mobile needed a way to communicate the value of its product line to consumers while providing marketing and support materials for "brick & mortar" vendors.

This presented an exciting opportunity to help validate a completely new line of products while informing, enticing, and delighting customers.

My Role:

I was in charge of Content Strategy & UX Design for the project, working with a small development team and reporting directly to the owners of the company to create a comprehensive online solution for both direct consumers and "third-party" vendors.

This presented an exciting opportunity to help validate a completely new line of products while informing, enticing, and delighting customers.

Results:

  • Fully-responsive website; this provided B2C and B2B support for our entire product line, and included several content streams to expand brand awareness (email, social media, blog).
  • Concept validation & 100% prototype sales; the product line was successfully introduced through trade-show venues, with all initial stock (200 units) being sold in 2 days.
  • Established retail vendor network; over two dozen Toronto-area stores signed on to carry and promote our products.
